England

In England, apprenticeship certificates must be applied for online, through the Apprenticeship Certificates England (ACE) system. You must register to use ACE before applying for a certificate which can be done on the ACE website itself. ACE is managed by the Federation for Industry Sector Skills and Standards, which has set the costs of applying for a certificate at £22.00. This charge covers the costs of running the certification system and processing each individual certificate application.

Wales

In Wales, apprenticeship certificates must be applied for online, through the Apprenticeship Certificates Wales (ACW) system. You must register to use ACW before applying for a certificate, which can be done on the ACW website itself. ACW is managed by the Federation for Industry Sector Skills and Standards, which has set the costs of applying for a certificate at £22.00. This charge covers the costs of running the certification system and processing each individual certificate application.

Scotland

In Scotland, training providers and colleges must be registered with us to deliver our Modern Apprenticeships. Centre registration is £50 per centre for each Modern Apprenticeship framework and level.

Centre & Training Provider Registration Form

Once a training provider or college is registered to deliver the Modern Apprenticeship, they must register their learners at the beginning of the Modern Apprenticeship programme. This must be done through the Modern Apprenticeship Online (MA Online) system. Learner registration costs £50 per learner which covers both registration and certification costs.

Certification for learners also takes place through the MA Online system. To support centre registration and the use of the MA Online system, please refer to user guides on the Federation’s website https://modernapprenticeships.org/web/knowledge-base
